Transubstantiation
The priest consumes bread and wine before the congregation; a humming bird hovering among the flowers.
[Note: This poem was written after a creative writing professor mentioned it took Ezra Pound ten years to write "In a Station of the Metro." My comment to that statement was that maybe he was ten years old when he wrote it. The arrogance of youth.]
